Rita Hosking's style of country-folk has been lauded for story and sense of place. She hails from Hatchet Mountain — between Montgomery Creek and Burney, California. A descendant of Cornish miners who sang in the mines of Cornwall and Grass Valley, California, Rita grew up with deep regard for folk music and the power of the voice. She earned a B.A. in Religious Studies with a minor in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Davis. With award-winning music spanning 9 albums and 20 years of touring, this country-folk troubadour is a heavy hitter in the Northern California songwriting scene. She’ll be joined by Sean Feder on banjo and Dobro.
Longtime SoCal troubadour Rick Shea got his early musical education in the bars and honky-tonks of San Bernardino where he grew up. With ten critically acclaimed albums, he’s performed all over the West Coast and Europe. He built a solid career for himself as a solo artist, singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Tony Gilkyson has played and recorded with Lone Justice, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Dave Alvin, Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, K.D. Lang, and X among many others. With Tom Waits, he co-produced a couple of Chuck E. Weiss albums and has played guitar on numerous film soundtracks including the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line, The Big Lebowski, Don’t Come Knockin’ and All the King’s Men with producer T Bone Burnett.
