When Los Angeles-based songwriter, Brad Colerick, signed on to host eight Wednesday night events in 2009, he had no idea what was in store. Word spread quickly about the great songs and stories being shared, and the impromptu performances from surprise guests each week. It quickly “bubbled into an inviting community hub for musicians, songwriters, wine-geeks and [music fans.…]” wrote Bliss Bowen of the Pasadena Weekly. The shows have become known for being ‘pin drop’ quiet, as audiences lean into every word from the gifted songwriters who perform. Thirteen years, multiple venues, and a pandemic later, it's still going strong. And on March 10, the series expands to Phoenix hosted by Laura Joy. Shows will be every Thursday, outdoors on the back patio of Short Leash, 4221 N 7th Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85013. 6:00pm. LA shows are currently being held monthly-ish at various outdoor locations while the Blue Guitar room is temporarily closed while the city looks for a new restaurant operator for the adjacent space.
